Use this guide before creating anything. It prevents a restaurant from being set up as a normal shop, a ticketed event from becoming a plain listing, or a vacancy from remaining online after its closing date.
Choose the correct service
- Business or service: public profile, contact details, map, opening hours and reviews.
- Restaurant: public restaurant listing plus menu, ordering and order management.
- Seller shop: products, stock, shipping, customer orders and monthly payouts.
- Event: event discovery, optional ticket sales and QR check-in.
- Job: vacancy, screening questions, applications and an expiry date.
- Property: sale or rental listing with an expiry date.
- Magazine or website advertising: paid position, issue or month, artwork and destination link.
Create a listing people can trust
- Open Add or manage listings in My Whereabouts and choose the correct type. A shop product, restaurant menu, event, vacancy and property listing each use a different workflow.
- Add a clear title, the most accurate category and a concise description that explains the offer.
- Set the address to Kimberley, Northern Cape, South Africa where appropriate and verify the map pin before submitting.
- Upload a wide banner plus a separate square or transparent logo. Do not enlarge a small image.
- Add the phone, email, website or WhatsApp link, trading hours and relevant social profiles.
- For jobs, property and events, choose an expiry date so outdated content is removed automatically.
- Preview every section, correct errors and submit for review. You will receive a notification when the listing is approved or needs changes.
Image guide
- Banner: landscape, sharp, uncluttered and suitable for a wide crop.
- Logo: square or transparent PNG with breathing room around the mark.
- Gallery: current, well-lit images that show what visitors will actually receive.
